I WRITE.

Brand Messaging & Tone of Voice

Your brand has a voice. I make sure it doesn’t sound like everyone else’s.
Most tone of voice guidelines read like a bored committee wrote them. Mine don’t.
I craft voices that have bite, brains, and just the right amount of “wait, what did they just say?”
Whether you're launching, rebranding, or finally getting around to figuring out what your brand should sound like, I’ll help you build a tone so distinct, you'll want to copyright it.

Web Content

Web content needs to stick, click, and get bookmarked for being brilliant.
People don’t read websites. Unless the writing demands to be read.
That’s where I come in. I write homepage headlines that make you spit out your coffee. Product pages that don’t sound like robot soup.
And I do it all with copy that makes staying on your site feel like a reward, not a chore.

Commercial Achievement Reports

Serious doesn’t have to mean soulless.
When it comes to annual reports, stakeholder comms, or investor updates, clarity is king. But that doesn’t mean I leave creativity at the door.
I write the kind of commercial content that respects the numbers, honours the facts, and still manages to keep the reader awake past page three.
From sharp exec summaries to storytelling that stitches strategy to results, I help brands communicate their impact with intelligence, precision - and just enough flair to stand out from the spreadsheet crowd.

Cruise Ship Enrichment Talks

Being Human - The Talk No-One Else Will Give

It started just like any other Sunday morning squash match. And then my heart stopped. Twenty-two minutes later, I woke up. Most people don't. What happened in between, and the fight back that followed, became the subject of my 2025 TEDx talk. No hero narrative. No "everything happens for a reason." Just the honest truth about what recovery actually looks like when you've been dead for 22 minutes. The setbacks, the fear, the days you go backwards, the version of yourself you have to let go. Audiences get a chance to share the CARE framework: practical tools for bouncing back when life knocks you down physically, mentally, or emotionally.

The 3% Club: Why Survival Isn't About Luck

Only 3% of people survive 22 minutes of cardiac arrest. Paul Sowerby is one of them. But survival at that level isn't random—there are patterns. This talk explores what separates the 3% from the 97% in any high-stakes situation: business crises, health scares, career collapses, major life disruption. Drawing on his own experience, decades of journalism interviewing high performers, and research into resilience psychology, Paul reveals the mental architecture of people who make it through when most don't. Not inspirational waffle—hard lessons translated into everyday tools you can actually use when life goes sideways.

The Curiosity Advantage: How Asking Better Questions Changes Everything

For 40 years, my job was simple: ask better questions than anyone else in the room. It's what made me an award-winning investigative journalist. It's what helped me become UK Entrepreneur of the Year. This talk reveals the lost art of curiosity: how to ask questions that unlock truth, spot lies, solve problems, and navigate life intelligently. You'll leave with a framework for curiosity that actually gets results.

40 Years vs 18 Months: Why I'm Not Worried About AI (And You Shouldn't Be Either)

I've spent 40 years mastering the craft of writing and storytelling. AI learned it in 18 months. My entire skillset is supposedly under attack. But instead of panicking, I run a business that combines AI with human expertise, and it's thriving. This talk explores what happens when you stop fighting technology and start using it as a tool that makes your judgment more valuable, not less. AI can generate content brilliantly. But it can't think. It can't judge. It can't feel when something's wrong. Here's what stays irreplaceable - and how to stay ahead.

Who are you? No, I Mean Who Are You, Really?

Not what you do. Not what you've done. Not your job title or your CV. But who you actually are - and more importantly, who other people think you are when your name comes up. Because here's the thing: whether you like it or not, you have a personal brand. It's being built every day through the small things you do, the way you treat people, what you're known for. And if the person you think you are doesn't match the person everyone else experiences? Well, you've got a problem. But here's the good news: you can change it. You can rebuild. You can reinvent yourself at any age. Don't believe me? Let me show you someone who's done it. Three times.

I teach

English as a Foreign Language

English isn't just a subject. In the right hands, it's the most useful thing your child - or you - will ever learn.

I've spent four decades working at the very sharp end of the English language - as a journalist, a storyteller, and as a communicator for some of the world's biggest organisations.

I'm in love with what English can do, and that passion is at the heart of every lesson I teach.

Whether your child is finding their feet in a new country, preparing for a critical exam, or simply needs someone who can make the language feel alive - or whether you're a professional who knows that better English means a better career - I teach with one goal: to unlock what's already there.

Your child deserves more than "getting by"

Dubai is one of the most international cities on earth. Children here grow up alongside classmates from 70, 80, 100 different countries. English is the common thread - the language of the classroom, the playground, and the future. When a child struggles with it, everything else becomes harder. When they master it, everything opens up.

What I bring to your child's lessons

I've spent three years as Communications Specialist at Dubai English Speaking Schools. I hold a Level 5 TEFL Diploma - the highest qualification available. And I've spent 40 years understanding exactly how language works, what makes it stick, and what makes it sing.

But credentials only go so far. What I love most is something simpler: the moment a child finds the right word and when confidence replace hesitation. I'm passionate about English - and children feel that.

  • Level 5 TEFL qualified Ages 6–60
  • All levels
  • 70+ nationalities taught
  • In-person or online
  • Native British speaker
  • Tailored to every learner

Every learner is different. Every lesson reflects that.

I work across six distinct learner profiles.

Young learners (6–16)

Homework support, reading, writing, creative expression, and school English - taught by someone who makes it feel less like a lesson and more like a conversation.

Exam preparation

IELTS and TOEFL coaching built around strategy, not just grammar. I've studied how these exams think and how to get the score that changes your next step.

Young professionals

Interviews, CVs, LinkedIn profiles, networking, presentations. The English that gets you noticed and keeps you there.

Executive coaching

For senior leaders who present to boards, speak to media, and negotiate across cultures. Communication at this level is a competitive advantage. I treat it that way.

Business writing

For engineers, accountants, managers and analysts who need their written English to match their expertise. Reports, emails, proposals - clear, precise, professional.

Sector specialists

Real estate, hospitality, healthcare - industries where client-facing English can make or break a deal, a relationship, or a diagnosis.

A lifetime in language. A passion that never dimmed.

I don't teach English as a foreign language as part of a system that needs decoding. I teach it as a living thing; full of possibility and worth falling in love with.

Whether you're six or sixty, a first-time learner or a seasoned professional looking to sharpen your edge — the belief is the same. Greater proficiency in English isn't just useful. It's quietly, persistently, life-changing. Let's get started.
